Pickled onions

You will need:

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1tsp salt
Mix the sugar, vinegar, water and salt together. Pour on the onion slices. Mix well and let sit for 15 minutes. By then, you will see that the onions has shrunken down and that there is more liquid. Mix again and make sure that the onion slices are covered with the vinegar liquid. Let it sit for another 15 minutes. After that, it is ready to use or to be stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
